The Energy and Engineering Department of Manvia will be responsible for the Energy rationalization plan in the Institute of Investigation and Innovation in Health (i3S), which is the largest research institute in Portugal focused on research and innovation in Health Sciences.
With approximately 1000 employees, the i3S develops several approaches with the purpose of promoting health and transfer the knowledge generated for the society, through partnerships and scientific collaborations, with health-related industries.
Considering the current context of pandemic, the i3S, since the 6th of April, is making from 100 to 150 diagnostic tests daily to the new coronavirus. Additionally, approximately 5 thousand diagnostic tests will be made to elderly people in nursing homes in the northern area of the country.
Following the certification and energy audit service of the i3S building, complying with the legislation in force (Decree-Law number 118/2013), Manvia’s services provision comprises the execution of the energy rationalization plan, with a set of improvement measures that allow a decrease in the building’s energy consumption.
The goal of the improvement measures, besides energy consumption decrease is to provide the building with equipment and systems more advanced, benefiting from technological evolution, resulting in more environment-friendly measures and economic.
The implementation of this plan intends to decrease the final energy consumption in 3%, within a maximum period of six years.
