Maintenance of Transforming Stations in the Ports of Leixões and Viana do Castelo

Manvia performed the maintenance of all the Medium Voltage cells, transformers and general low voltage switchboards that equip the Switching Stations / Transforming Stations operated by APDL – Administração dos Portos do Douro, Leixões e Viana do Castelo, SA.

The Manvia contract work it carried out by various specialist teams at the Ports of Leixões and Viana do Castelo and also at the Leixões Logistics Platform – Pole 1 and 2, with a total of 10 Switching Stations and 16 Transforming Stations.

The Port of Leixões is the largest port infrastructure in northern Portugal and one of the most important in the context of the national and Iberian port system, through which goods are exported to more than 180 countries through a significant network of shipowners.

It is the second largest national port in terms of traffic of merchandise, with an annual movement of about 19.5 million tons, an annual movement of containerised cargo exceeding 685 thousand TFEUs, an annual movement of Ro-Ro cargo exceeding 1.3 million tons – constituting itself as the largest national port in this market segment.
